New Zealand’s largest union today expressed its sadness at the passing of prominent Auckland lawyer Robert Fardell, QC.
Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union national secretary Andrew Little – a lawyer himself - said that Mr Fardell’s death was a loss to the legal community.
“The union’s most recent dealing with Mr Fardell was in last year’s Air New Zealand workplace drugs testing case, when he defended the airline against the case brought by the unions,” Mr Little said.
“Robert Fardell was a highly skilled legal practitioner, and we extend our sympathies to his family and colleagues.”
