NZ Post report-back meetings underway

20 May, 2008

Report-back meetings continue this week at New Zealand Post sites across the country, with more than 400 meetings planned across 300 sites.

The meetings follow three days of collective agreement negotiations with Post and will provide a run-down for members of what was discussed and an opportunity to vote on the company's offer.

EPMU postal and logistics organiser Anna Kenny says the turnout so far has been great.

"We've already had a fair number of our reportback meetings and have had excellent participation rates and a lot of feedback. It's great to see the union's democracy in action and so many members participating in it.

"One of the constant themes we are hearing is disappointment in Post's lack of willingness to address the financial hurt of its workers and their families and we will be taking that view back to the table when we go into the next round of negotiations."

The NZ Post collective agreement, also known as the ‘Red Book', covers more than 4500 EPMU members.
