The EPMU will be launching its Work Rights Wage Drive campaign on the first day of next week's biennial conference.
The Wage Drive is the latest step in the union's ongoing Work Rights campaign and is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of work rights amongst union members and the public.
EPMU national secretary Andrew Little says the issue is central to the wellbeing of New Zealand's workers and the economy.
"The strength of people's work rights directly affects their ability to negotiate good wages and that means we need good strong work rights to ensure New Zealand workers can earn enough to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads."
"New Zealand's wages are still recovering from the last time our rights at work were stripped from us and we don't want to see it happen again," says Little, "that's why we will be encouraging every one of our members to think carefully about how important their rights are before this year's election."
Little says the campaign will involve a series of membership meetings.
Details of the Wage Drive will be announced at 1pm, Tuesday the 1st of July.
