EPMU members at Electricity Ashburton ratified a one year deal for a 6% pay rise on Friday.
EPMU organiser Kelvin Ellis says the deal shows the high demand for skilled lines workers. "Our members claimed six percent and with a bit of negotiating they got six percent because their skills are in such short supply."
"These members have a solid agreement," says Ellis, "including an extra week of service leave that we negotiated last year and good allowances."
The deal is in line with other EPMU-negotiated agreements in the electrical industry.
