The EPMU’s Vehicle Testing New Zealand recruitment campaign is taking off in Auckland with new members joining every day and it’s expected the campaign will roll out across the country over the next few weeks.
The aim of the campaign is to get the numbers for a national collective employment agreement with VTNZ, which employs almost a thousand workers across New Zealand.
EPMU Growth Unit Organiser Chris Rigby says a national collective would benefit both members and the company. “A national collective would offer better terms and conditions for members but also help the company by providing a basis for a stable and secure workforce.”
“The EPMU already has strong membership in similar companies such as the AA,” says Rigby, “and a national collective at VTNZ would improve pay and conditions for everyone and add to the stability of that sector.”
VTNZ workers who want to join the EPMU can call 0800 1 UNION to find out more.
