Two scholarships for Pacific Island students

The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) has two $4000 scholarships up for grabs for Pacific Island students.

These scholarships provide financial assistance, one-to-one industry support, industry site visits and assistance with arrangement of holiday employment where possible for students studying an electrical trades course in 2008.

These courses could be pre trades (National Certificates), diplomas or a Bachelor of Engineering. 

The electricity supply industry covers the generation, transmission, distribution and retailing of electricity in New Zealand and employs around 7000 people and has a good record in the training and development of its people.

The scholarships can lead to a wide range of careers including line mechanics, cable jointers, electricians, electrical Fitters, mechanical fitters, plant operators, technicians, power system engineers and power system controllers, to name a few.
